I love how fearless she was and the fact that even though she could always return to mortal world and live a good life, she wishes to be something way higher than that. I love how Holly Black created her as a pretty simple girl who is lead by her emotions and deeper motives. She’s truly one of those characters you wish to be more like. I love Jude because of how badass she is. My favorite characters are of course Jude and Cardan. Thanks to my daddy issues, this is the only kind of romance I can enjoy and among all the enemies-to-lovers I’ve read (and believe me I read a lot) this is definitely the best one! However, if you don’t enjoy a very intense almost sado-masochistic relationship full of hatred, this might not be the one of you. And that’s how you write a good enemies-to-lovers. This is such a slow burn romance that it took almost the whole first book for the actual romance to start. By enemies-to-lovers I don’t mean going from ‘Ugh I hate him so much’ to ‘Oh my gosh I love him and want is babies’ in 50 pages. My favorite aspect of this book is the very intense enemies-to-lovers trope. Now let me tell you all the reasons why I like it so much. Me re-reading this just confirmed my suspicions that this is one of my favorite series ever! And in my opinion, it’s popular for a reason. This series is one of the most popular YA Fantasies and if you’re a member of Bookblog/Booktube/Bookstagram community, you’ve probably read this.
